How to Apply

Scholarships for High School Graduates Nursing Scholarships Medical Student Scholarship
In 2011, we expect to award about ten $5000 scholarships to assist with post-secondary educational expenses. In 2010, we received just over 40 applications for these scholarships.

Eligibility

All applicants must:

  • be a resident of northern or central California but may study elsewhere (see map for specific counties);
  • have completed or expect to complete high school or equivalent between 1 Jul 2006 and 30 Jun 2011; and
  • plan to attend or began attending an accredited post-secondary institution (college, university, or vocational/trade school) in the United States for the first time in 2011 (proof of enrollment will be required before scholarship funds are disbursed).

Applicants for the Bobby Griffith Memorial Scholarship must be a resident of Contra Costa County.

In 2011, we expect to award four $5000 scholarships to assist with nursing school expenses.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN RN program in California. Master's prepared programs with a BA/BS in a field other than nursing will be considered eligible.
  • be in good academic standing. Those just entering a nursing program must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA with a strong emphasis on math and science.
Current KP employees or their dependents, RN reentry programs, or current RN to BSN or MSN programs are not eligible for these scholarships. Diploma programs are not eligible.
In 2011, we will award one $2000 scholarship to assist with medical school expenses.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be attending an accredited medical school in California or be a California resident attending an accredited medical school elsewhere in the United States; and
  • be in good academic standing.

In addition to completing the written application, applicants for all scholarships must be available for an interview either by phone or in person on Sunday, 13 March 2011, or Saturday, 19 March 2011.

Application

The 2011 eQuality Scholarship application will be available here in mid-November. It will also be available from high school guidance counselors throughout northern and central California beginning in late November. The application is a .pdf file, which can be opened with the free Adobe Reader software.

Deadline

Applications, including transcripts and letter of recommendation, will be due at the end of January 2011. Applicants will be notified of their application status by 31 March 2011.
